The mission of Tahoe Mountain Resorts Foundation is to serve as a catalyst for community enhancement by providing leadership and funding which will enrich the quality of life in the Truckee/North Lake Tahoe region through cultural, environmental, educational and charitable pursuits.

The four communities of Tahoe Mountain Resorts were created with a commitment to achieving the highest standards of ecological and social responsibility by East West Partners. These year-round resort communities employ environmentally conscious practices rarely applied on such a comprehensive basis in real estate development. To that end, Tahoe Mountain Resorts Foundation was created along with and Environmental Fund and three community specific Foundations as a medium to meet this commitment.

The Truckee-North Tahoe area is a vibrant community, one that is continually energized by its most valuable natural resource: its people. We all treasure the lifestyle that the Sierra provides, no matter whether it is for a weekend or a lifetime. Tahoe Mountain Resorts Foundation is dedicated to sustaining and enhancing this lifestyle from an educational, cultural, athletic and community-based perspective, in essence, enriching the mind, body and soul of the entire community. By supporting what private business and public office cannot, the Foundation cultivates the vital spirit that is the Sierra.

As the Tahoe Mountain Resorts Foundation grows, its charter will be to provide the Tahoe-Truckee area with a vast array of world-class cultural events and programs, literally and figuratively bringing the world to Truckee-Tahoe and Truckee-Tahoe to the world. The Tahoe Mountain Resorts Foundation will continue its Sierra leadership role, helping to shape the future of the Tahoe basin.

This Fund is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the natural environment in the Truckee and North Lake Tahoe area. The Fund's purpose is to grow and support initiatives regarding environmental education, restoration of nature areas, natural resource conservation, recycling, renewable energy and alternative transportation, either through direct implementation of programs, or by partnering with other groups and organizations.

Through the Tahoe Mountain Resorts Environmental Fund, our commitment to the Sierra and dedication to protecting and enhancing the natural environment in the Truckee-North Lake Tahoe area is manifested in action. The Environmental Fund has donated over$450,000 to the Truckee-Tahoe Community and provides grants to organizations whose mission is to help conserve the wildlife, lands and waters of the Truckee, North Tahoe and Donner Summit regions while creating opportunities for outdoor enjoyment.

These Foundations exist to enhance the experience of living in the three communities of Old Greenwood, Grays Crossing, and Northstar. They support a variety of community projects, fund donations to other non-profit organizations whose activities will benefit the community residents, and sponsor civic and recreational programs. In addition, these Foundations work together to provide transportation for residents to move between the three communities and downtown Truckee.

These Foundations have supported music, art and other cultural events for the benefit of each individual community as well as for the benefit of the Truckee community in general. Events such as concerts on the green featuring world class musical entertainment have served thousands of residents and visitors alike. The three community Foundations have also sponsored art festivals that have drawn nationally known artists to take advantage of the natural beauty of the region and whose art is sold to the benefit of regional environmental organizations.
